Autumn App Challenge

We are excited to announce the Plotly Autumn App Challenge that will build on Plotly’s transition to MapLibre, bringing faster performance and increased stability to all of our map-type charts.

We challenge the community to build a Dash app around the data on the Michelin Star Restaurant Guide, provided by Jerry Ng on Kaggle.

Over time, Michelin stars have earned a reputation for prestige, thanks to their rigorous criteria and the scrutiny of anonymous inspectors. These stars are highly sought after because earning even a single star has the power to transform a chef’s career; though losing a star can have just as profound an impact.

The winning apps will be judged according to the following categories:

• Data insights revealed from the data set
• App UI/UX Design
• Creative usage of Plotly maps
• Bonus points for integration of LLMs to gain more data insight

Please submit your app as a new post in the forum thread. Please include a link to the app if possible, code on GitHub, and a short description of the app.

The submission deadline is the end of the day Sunday, November 3, 2024.

The winners will be announced in November and will receive a reward of $125 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third place.

Figure Friday

📣 We are excited to announce a new collaborative Plotly initiative: Figure Friday.

Every Friday, Plotly releases a data set and a sample figure. The community has one week — until midnight of the following Thursday — to enhance that figure, build their own Plotly figure, or create a Dash app.

The goal of this initiative is to enhance our Plotly skills, collaborate among community members, and share our creations with the world, while we develop our personal portfolio of data visualizations and apps.

Winners of the Summer Dash App Challenge

Thank you everyone for participating in the Summer App-building Challenge. The Plotly staff members who served as the panel of judges were amazed by the quality of the apps submitted. It’s an honor to have such a dedicated community of Plotly Dash builders.

After spending considerable time reviewing and deliberating the apps, the Plotly judging panel decided to grant first place to…🥁

🥇 Community member, Mayara, for her Amazon Analysis Dash app, with the following code.

The app received a 10 out of 10 in the user experience category given its clean design and ease of navigation. In the first tab, the choice of year dropdown, bar chart, and treemap put three essential data points in the user’s main line of vision and make it easy to arrive at fast exploratory conclusions. The app achieves a similar experience with the second tab.

The “Book Recommendation” section generated effective recommendations and it was very enjoyable to interact with. The integration of the LLM capabilities was not only a powerful feature but also tidily and thoughtfully incorporated into the UI.

🥈 Community member, Yazid, for his Dash app, with the following code.

We loved the use of the new Plotly rounded bar chart feature. The app requires some data filtering before getting started, but once the app comes to life, the rich features, dark mode, modal expansion, and amazing styling immediately become apparent.

This app has some of the most powerful filtering capabilities. It’s very easy to explore customer segmentation using the buttons at the top, allowing the user to compare different categories and explore different hypotheses.

Also, kudos on the great use of pattern-matching callbacks on the bar charts as well as the integration of the Highchart map, showing the shipping routes of products between cities.

🥇 Community member, Li, for her Vizro Dash app, with the following code.

Incorporating data cards with key metrics and a snapshot view of the data via the bar chart is a great way to allow the user to understand the distribution of sales by category, product, region, and state. The regional view tab was also particularly powerful for communicating the data, with the combination of a heatmap, data cards, and bar charts.

Exploring the data becomes much easier thanks to the sidebar controls. We also appreciated the thought put into leveraging a variety of visualizations within each one of the tabs. And for the cherry on top of the cake, we loved the colored Dash AG Grid column (“Total Order Value”) in the Customer Overview tab.

Component of the Month

Dash Dynamic Grid Layout (DGL) is a new community component built by our community members, @BSD3v and @Pip Install Python.

DGL is a Dash component library that provides a flexible grid layout system for arranging and moving components within a Dash application. Some of the features highlighted include:

• Drag-and-drop functionality for rearranging components
• Resizable grid items
• Customizable layout with responsive breakpoints
• Option to add or remove items dynamically
• Customizable drag handles for each item
• Persistence of component state
• Local, memory, or session storage for persistence

To get started, simply pip install dash-dynamic-grid-layout and run the code located in the usage.py file, similar to how you would run any Dash app.

App of the Month

The Ireland Gender Pay Gap Analysis App was created by long-time community member, Ann Marie.

This app was designed for job seekers, employees, investors, and researchers interested in detailed gender pay gap information for companies in Ireland. The data is consistently presented for all companies, with links to company-prepared reports that typically explain the factors driving pay gap differences.

The community and Plotly staff praised this app because the control panel on the left and the Dash AG Grid at the lower part of the page make it incredibly easy to explore the data. The horizontal bar chart and the two pay gap cards offer a clear picture of the data without having to scroll.

In this blog series, we will provide insight into the daily experiences of working at Plotly. We have interviewed team members from various departments, including Engineering, Customer Success and Solutions, Sales, and Professional Services, to give a comprehensive view of Plotly.

What would you say to someone who was considering Plotly as a place to work?

There are great people here and the space that we work in is competitive. We are trying to solve a hard problem with a lot of players so anyone joining needs to be ready to think outside the box. I can only speak to my experience on the product team, but I often need to go beyond what is the job description and really dive into different elements of the business and product.

What is your favorite part about working for Plotly?

I would say it’s the product team that I work on. I like the people that I work with. They’re smart, talented. We have a good team.

Why did you choose to work at Plotly? What made us stand out?

Plotly’s prominence in open-source was quite surprising and eye-opening. I have done data visualization as a developer and frequently came across Plotly as a solution to features I had worked on. I was given an opportunity to switch into a new role and apply my development experience to the product side of the industry. I’m able to use my expertise in the problem space to help design and build a product that solves a valuable business problem.

What three words describe your Plotly experience?

Diverse. Technical. Complex.

In a few sentences, what do you do at Plotly?

I am responsible for providing the roadmap for features related to data and auth integrations. I also act as a technical liaison / SME for the product team for data and auth as well as for some of the more low-level, backend, or architecture elements of the product.

What is the most significant thing you have learned while working here?

Building customer-hosted enterprise software is hard and working directly with large enterprise customers has unique challenges and complexities. It’s a very different process than developing SaaS products.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far during your time at Plotly?

The “data sources” feature that is coming out in the DE 5.5 release. It’s been a group effort to get it out the door but should provide a lot of value for customers and help the business grow.

Additionally, there are some complex authorization features that I’ve been working on for a while that will be coming into the product in a future release.

Do you have a mentor or role model? Who are they, and what are they like?

I would say my dad. He’s an expert at what he does and really understands the details of his field. Despite his experience and title, he’s always humble and never considers himself “above” doing a job. He’s always there to support anyone that needs him.

Have you read, watched, or listened to anything recently that has really impacted you?

I really enjoyed reading the Incerto series by N. N. Taleb. It’s a collection of essays on randomness, asymmetries, and other concepts in probabilities and statistics.

Do you have a secret talent, or (superpower) you want people to know about?

I have perfect pitch. It has helped me teach myself how to play a few instruments.

What is your favorite activity outside of work?

Spending time with my family.

What is your favorite place to travel?

I enjoyed going to Tuscany in Italy. The food there is great.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I like Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Given the opportunity, I probably wouldn’t change where I live.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Family is what I care about the most, especially my wife and son.

What do you enjoy most about the team you work with?

I like working with Nicole, our Director of Product Management. She is a good manager, fun to work for, and she makes the job engaging.

How do you envision the future of Plotly and your role in it?

I hope that we are able to be the premium solution in the data science and visualization space. Focusing on high-quality, complex solutions that solve challenging problems for the companies in the industry that need it. Hopefully we can become the go-to platform for companies that have the hardest problems in data science.

What is your favorite part about working for Plotly?

My favorite part about working for Plotly is the Customer Success team and the ability to work remotely. Despite being geographically distant from each other, I feel a stronger connection to my team members than I did with coworkers in previous roles. The team culture emphasizes empathy, kindness, and a genuine desire to help, which makes collaborating very fulfilling. Additionally, working remotely allows me to spend more time with my dog, which is a significant perk for me.

Why did you choose to work at Plotly? What made us stand out?

I chose to work at Plotly because I had used Plotly in my previous job and found it incredibly engaging. I learned it on my own and was excited by the vast possibilities it offered for creative coding. Whatever I wanted to achieve with code seemed possible with Plotly, which made the prospect of working here very appealing. The opportunity to blend coding with creativity in my work really stood out to me.

What would you say to someone who was considering Plotly as a place to work?

To succeed here, you need to be proactive and creative. While there are structures in place in large companies, in this environment, you’re encouraged to independently find solutions and create your own strategies. Remember, assistance is available if you ask for it, but it’s essential to actively seek out ways to solve problems on your own.

What three words describe your Plotly experience?

Unexpected, Challenging, and Growth 🪴

In a few sentences, what do you do at Plotly?

At Plotly, I assist Dash Enterprise customers by answering their questions about what is possible with our tools, providing sample code, and helping them debug issues. Essentially, I act as a code detective, solving coding mysteries every day.

What is the most significant thing you have learned while working here?

The most significant thing I’ve learned while working here is to be more confident and to effectively project that confidence.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far during your time at Plotly?

During my time at Plotly, my proudest accomplishments involve developing sample code for features that initially seemed impossible. Often, clients ask if certain functionalities are possible, and although they might not be documented, we find innovative ways to implement them. I maintain a folder of these “cool apps,” showcasing solutions we created for challenges that initially appeared insurmountable.

Do you have a mentor or role model? Who are they, and what are they like?

A mentor and role model of mine is Taylor Hale, our Product Onboarding Team Lead. She stands out as a woman in a tech company without a traditional technology background, yet she consistently delivers amazing work. Taylor has solved numerous challenges with both thoroughness and kindness, exemplifying the best of both worlds. Her intelligence and compassion make her a model professional who embodies the qualities of being both highly skilled and genuinely humane. These traits are why she is such a significant role model for me.

Have you read, watched, or listened to anything recently that has really impacted you?

Recently, I’ve been deeply influenced by a TikTok account that shares testimonies and experiences of women in marriage and parenthood. It has impacted me because it highlights the importance of giving visibility to diverse experiences. It’s gratifying to see that these stories help others feel heard and less isolated, fostering connections through shared stories. I appreciate how even seemingly insignificant posts on social media can significantly affect others, bringing positivity, and a sense of community.

What advice would you give to someone new joining Plotly?

Ask lots of questions! Don’t be shy.

Do you have a secret talent, or (superpower) you want people to know about?

One of my unique skills is perfectly assessing which size Tupperware is needed for different amounts of leftovers.

What is your favorite activity outside of work?

Reading! 📚 I love stories and last year I got back into writing! I mainly write short stories and fantasy, and recently I had the pleasure of getting a couple of them published.

What is your favorite place to travel?

Anywhere I can go with my dog 🐶

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose the north of Spain. It appeals to me because it’s quieter than Madrid, surrounded by beautiful nature. The region features spacious, light-filled houses, which I find ideal. Additionally, its proximity to both beaches and mountains, along with pleasant weather is why I want to move there.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Sun! ☀️

Figure Friday

📣 We are excited to announce a new collaborative Plotly initiative: Figure Friday.

Every Friday, Plotly will release a data set and a sample figure. The community will have one week — until midnight of the following Thursday — to enhance that figure, build their own Plotly figure, or create a Dash app.

The goal of this initiative is to enhance our Plotly skills, collaborate among community members, and share our creations with the world, while we develop our personal portfolio of data visualizations and apps.

Plotly Hangouts

Community members attending the June Hangout got a chance to meet Andrew Schutte, a Senior Data Scientist at the Kansas City Chiefs. We saw a live demo of a Dash app used by Kansas City Chiefs staff. We also learned about the data science functions within a successful football team. And we heard Andrew’s career reflections on transitioning from accounting into a data science role.

As a reminder, Plotly Hangouts are a space where you can meet and interact with data scientists and data analysts merged in the world of data visualization, Plotly, and Dash.

Our next Hangout will take place on July 31, at noon Eastern Time. The guest speaker will be John Kang, the Director of Planning Analytics and Industrial Engineering at Cox Automotive.

Databricks Dash App Challenge

Thank you Cees for submitting the QuizDash app to the Databricks Dash App Challenge. The unique way Cees chose to use the DBRX LLM in this Dash app makes learning new topics much easier and a lot more fun. The app offers several AI-based features.

• Quiz Generation: Users can generate a customized quiz by selecting a topic, uploading text or a PDF, and specifying the number of questions, options, and difficulty level.
• Quiz Overview: This page provides an overview of created quizzes, displaying basic information about the quiz.
• Play a Quiz: Users can play the quiz, check answers, receive explanations, and view results on the final slide using interactive dash components.
• Personal AI Tutor: A chat interface allows users to ask questions and receive guidance from a personal AI tutor.

To get the app to work on your computer locally, simply clone this repo, and add your DBRX_BASE_URL and DBRX_API_KEY to a .env file. Then, add the credentials to the components/model.py file.

Thank you Vlad for submitting the DoomBerg app to the Databricks Dash App Challenge.

The DoomBerg app pulls S&P 500 data and runs a negative analysis on the stock chosen. Based on the EBIDTA and recent news, a Senior Doom Research Analyst orchestrates a team of agents (e.g. an Analyst, Financial Model Builder, and Dash Programmer) to build a Dash app for measuring “Gloom” and explaining how a stock might be negatively impacted based on current events.

To get the app to work on your computer locally, simply clone this repo, install the libraries found in the requirements.txt file, and add your DATABRICKS_TOKEN and DATABRICKS_BASE_URL to a .env file. Then, run the app: python main.py

Component of the Month

Dash Blueprint Components (DBTC) is a new community component built by our new community member Stefano.

DBTC uses Dash to wrap the Blueprint JS React-based UI toolkit for the web. It is optimized for building complex data-dense interfaces for desktop applications. To get started, simply pip install dash-blueprint-components and run the code located in the Readme file, similar to how you would run any Dash app.

App of the Month

The NFL Offense Stats App: The perfect platform to visualize NFL offense statistics with interactive charts. From rushing yards to passing yards, carries, or receptions, you can easily compare between NFL players and teams.

This rich app, created by community member Alfredo, is built with Dash, Plotly, and Dash Bootstrap Components. Not only is it a pleasure to look at, but plenty of fun to interact with.

Things Happen

One of the easiest ways to present data for technical and non-technical audiences is to create a dashboard that neatly displays all of your data visualizations and insights in one place. Adam Schroeder, Plotly Community Manager, built a free 6-session course that teaches how to build dashboards with Plotly Dash.

🎨 Long-time community member, Ann Marie, created Dash Pylette, which serves as a tool to extract color palettes from images. We thought so highly of this app that we added it to the Data Viz section of the Dash Explore Page.

📊 Another impressive app added to the Dash Explore Page is the Qablet. It was built by Somdip, and it allows one to explore a variety of financial contracts through two lenses — historic, and model-based.

What would you say to someone who was considering Plotly as a place to work?

I really enjoy working with my colleagues at Plotly, and I believe everyone here would say the same. They’re smart, interesting, and helpful, which enhances my day-to-day experience. Our team consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds, not only in programming but also across various academic fields and life experiences, having lived in many different places.

What advice would you give to someone new joining Plotly?

In a remote-first company, building working relationships can be challenging, especially for newcomers. Don’t hesitate to be active on Slack, including in the off-topic channels! Reach out to people individually and set up brief calls to get acquainted.

Why did you choose to work at Plotly? What made us stand out?

I enjoyed speaking with the people I met during the interview process. I had previously used the Plotly graphing library, so I was familiar with the tool. It’s exciting to work for a company that creates a product I use.

What is your favorite Plotly memory?

One perk of working from the Montreal office is the opportunity to meet colleagues in person when they visit for an onsite. Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed meeting people from sales, engineering, and product. It’s fun to have a full house in the office!

What three words describe your Plotly experience?

Creative, exciting, and friendly.

In a few sentences, what do you do at Plotly?

I work on both open source and enterprise libraries, focusing on Plotly graphing libraries as well as other open source and enterprise tools on the Engineering team!

What are your proudest accomplishments so far during your time at Plotly?

Previously on the Professional Services team, I collaborated with teammates to develop numerous complex apps. These handled large data sources, intricate plots, and various interesting challenges from clients. We used Dash Enterprise to visualize some truly fascinating data.

Do you have a secret talent or (superpower) you want people to know about?

Ever since a Pi Day competition in middle school, I’ve been able to recite about 70 digits of Pi on demand. I’ve tried to forget them to make room for more useful information, but they seem to be firmly lodged in my memory.

What is your favorite activity outside of work?

I enjoy photography, and playing music — I’m part of a percussion band in Montreal — knitting, fiber arts, and cycling around the city. I also like to venture up to the northern edge of the island, where there’s a nature park and a pier to explore.

What is your favorite place to travel?

I would say the coast in California, where I grew up, has many beautiful spots along the ocean and the highway.

Data + AI Summit 2024

Our team just got back from Data + AI Summit hosted by Databricks. It was an incredible experience, and we are truly grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth. We enjoyed engaging with so many talented individuals and experts, discussing production data apps, and sharing insights about Plotly and Dash Enterprise.

Plotly Community Meetup in San Francisco

The Plotly team had an awesome time hosting our San Francisco Plotly community gathering! Alongside Chris Parmer, the Creator of Dash and Co-Founder of Plotly, and Adam Schroeder, Community Manager, presented new open-source initiatives and community programs, and introduced the newest features and fixes in Dash and Plotly Graphing Libraries.

The team enjoyed hearing community members’ initiatives, feedback for improvements, and ideas for future data visualization projects. We greatly appreciate everyone who came out to see us. The meetup was such a hit, we were practically ready to start a karaoke session! Hope to see you all again soon!

Data Driven Oil & Gas 2024

Senior Account Executive Justin Boll represented Plotly in Houston, Texas at Data Driven Oil & Gas USA 2024. Collaborating with industry leaders such as Shell and Chesapeake Energy, Justin provided practical insights on leveraging Plotly Dash to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the oil and gas sector.

Justin leveraged the presence of over 400 industry professionals at the event to actively participate in open discussions, exchanging strategies for sustainable, data-driven innovation.

Collision 2024

Plotly team members Eliza, Abe, Monanshi were at the Collision Conference in Toronto! They loved connecting with the data science community about new and emerging technology. Additionally, they attend some great talks on Generative AI, including one from Geoffrey Hinton, the “Godfather of AI”.

Experience Dash Enterprise: Live Demo

Mingo Sanchez and Dylan Muscat hosted a live Dash Enterprise demo focused on healthcare and life sciences use cases. They demonstrated how Dash Enterprise aids in creating and managing scalable, interactive, user-friendly production-grade data applications, particularly for pharmaceutical tasks like molecular analysis and bioinformatics.

The demo covered using Dash Enterprise for drug discovery, regulatory compliance, clinical trials, and transforming notebooks into interactive apps with Plotly App Studio. It also included generating AI-powered insights with Chatbot Builder, creating responsive data apps with Dash Design Kit, and developing PDF reports using Snapshot Engine.

What would you say to someone who was considering Plotly as a place to work?

It’s a great company, so come prepared to put your learning hat on — there’s a lot to learn! Embrace an attitude of diving into hard problems because there’s a lot that can be solved here. This is a great environment to figure things out. Don’t be afraid to dive into the deep end.

What is your favorite part about working for Plotly?

I really enjoy the sense of accomplishment and recognition I feel when I deliver work that is celebrated by both customers and team members outside of my own. This culture of celebrating each other’s achievements and encouraging one another to excel is prevalent at Plotly. It means we often get the opportunity to do our best and see our efforts recognized and appreciated.

Why did you choose to work at Plotly? What made us stand out?

The space that Plotly operates in is very interesting — a cool combination of visually appealing elements and intriguing technical challenges behind the scenes. As both a user and someone on the inside, it’s a fun mix of creating solutions that look beautiful for users. I also really like the idea of working with an open-source company that is well-respected for its contributions.

What three words describe your Plotly experience?

Balanced — a healthy tonic balance of various aspects at work, supportive — with a team that builds each other up, and engaging — offering interesting challenges that are fun to sink your teeth into and plenty to tackle.

In a few sentences, what do you do at Plotly?

I am a software engineer on the App Studio team, and I get to write a lot of cool code that helps people with varying levels of Python expertise create interesting web apps for their data. I spend a lot of time thinking about how someone who doesn’t want to code — or even a Python expert who doesn’t want to bother with HTML or CSS — can still achieve their goals, and I help them accomplish that. We handle huge amounts of data and focus on how our users can easily transform data science notebooks into beautiful, interactive applications. I get to help our customers achieve their goals just by using the products I make.

What is the most significant thing you have learned while working here?

On a technical level, I am learning so much. I thought I was proficient in Python when I joined Plotly, but there’s always more to learn. Plotly provides numerous opportunities to delve into aspects like memory management and the software side of Python, which has expanded my skills and understanding.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far during your time at Plotly?

I would say being part of the App Studio team is right up there. We’ve delivered an amazing product that is really making its mark with customers. Being part of a team that delivered something so impressive, where we work well together and move quickly, I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished with App Studio.

Do you have a mentor or role model? Who are they, and what are they like?

Although they are mentors from years past, I continue to draw inspiration from two of my music professors in university. They taught me how to merge passion and discipline to produce amazing work. Through them, I saw and learned how to bring creativity, kindness, and empathy to my endeavors in life. Although I’m now an engineer rather than a musician, those same lessons inspire me to apply creativity and professionalism to my everyday work.

Have you read, watched, or listened to anything recently that has really impacted you?

I find a lot of inspiration in live music, especially when attending symphony orchestra performances. Watching professionals work together, delivering their absolute best, draws strong parallels to a software team at its peak. Observing how orchestras perform — often under the leadership of a conductor who may be new to them, requiring them to adapt and work on the fly — provides deep insights into teamwork and preparation. I draw from this experience and aim to bring that level of excellence to our team, ultimately delivering outstanding results to our customer base.

Are you involved in volunteering in your community?

Yes, I volunteer at a local jazz club. I help run the show for the evening, enjoying the time spent there and the opportunity to support the musicians. It’s a great way to be involved and contribute to the community while enjoying some fantastic music.

What is one thing you would like your colleagues to know?

I really appreciate all their hard work and the support I receive from them. I hope to give some of that back to their work as well. I love the work we are able to produce together, and it’s a ton of fun working as a team.

What advice would you give to someone new joining Plotly?

We solve a lot of hard problems here, and everyone is supportive of that. Even though you’re new and naturally want to make a good first impression, remember that everyone knows we’re tackling challenging work. Allow yourself to learn and take the time to absorb the huge scope of work we do and the breadth of products we offer. There’s no rush to dive into one project right away; there’s plenty to absorb. Take your time to learn about the wide range of stuff we do here.

Do you have a secret talent, or ( superpower) you want people to know about?

On the technical side, I actually have a passion for testing. In another life, I might have been a tester. My superpower lies in the coding realm, especially in test-driven development. I really enjoy using this approach to ensure our software is robust and reliable.

What is your favorite activity outside of work?

Camping and heading into the mountains are my favorites. There are always lots of adventures to be had when you’re out in nature like that.

What is your favorite place to travel?

The country of Slovenia is my favorite. It’s a charming little country next to Italy, and it reminds me a lot of Canada, especially its diverse geography and hockey culture. The people are lovely, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is very laid back.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I dream of spending winters somewhere tropical, and I really liked Panama City — it was neat. I can definitely see myself living there.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

My partner Jon 💜 — His support through the ups and downs of life is essential!

PyCon

Plotly was in Pittsburgh for PyCon 2024. PyCon offers a whole host of events including Job Fairs, Summits, Open Spaces, and a PyLadies Auction, which brings together Python users from around the world. Plotly Community Meetup in San Francisco

Take part in our San Francisco Plotly community gathering! Alongside Chris Parmer, the Creator of Dash and Co-Founder of Plotly, and Adam Schroeder, Community Manager, will host the meetup. We’ll start with a meet-and-greet with Chris. ➡️ Plotly Dash Online Course — Plotly Community Manager, Adam Schroeder, has developed a free 6-session course that teaches dashboard creation using Plotly Dash. He’ll show you how to leverage Dash to build robust data apps that interface with your analytics code directly, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of your datasets.

➡️ Databricks LLM (DBRX) with Dash App Building Challenge — This month, we challenge the LLM builder community to develop large language models with Databricks and create front-end app interfaces for them with Dash. The apps will be judged based on: integration with Databricks, the impact the app could have (great business idea, societal impact, etc.), integration of AI agents (LangChain, CrewAI, etc.), and app UI/UX design. Submit your app by June 30 for the chance to win a cash prize!

• Dash Enterprise 5.3 — In addition to quality-of-life platform upgrades and time-saving AI tools, we added new features including Plotly App Studio and Chatbot Builder
• Dash 2.17.0 (changelog) — Added callback updates with set_props, no output callbacks, layout as List, dcc.Loading, and trace zorder
• Dash AG Grid 31.2.0 (changelog) — Added ​​support for eventListeners. Increased the timeout for getApiAsync to 2 minutes.
• Plotly.py 5.22.0 (changelog) — Fixed applying autotickangles on axes and where tickson is set to “boundaries”. Fixed positioning of multi-line axis titles.
• Plotly.js 2.33.0 (changelog) — Added support for numeric text font weight. Add shadow, lineposition and textcase options to SVG fonts.
