Summary

GitHub Enterprise Ownership has been built in layers over the years from repos to orgs to enterprise accounts. It can be difficult for administrators across companies to govern all of these entities together.

To address this, we are increasing visibility of enterprise and org ownership between the enterprise account and its daughter organizations.

Intended Outcome

Organization members can easily discover who their enterprise admin is, and contact them.

How will it work?

Organization members, primarily Organization Owners, will be able to see a complete list of enterprise admins and will have a prompt to view this list when certain workflows prompt to contact your enterprise administrator.

There will be two primary ways the enterprise admin visibility will be enabled at the org layer:

• Navigate to the People tab within the organization and select the Enterprise Administrators view in the permissions menu
• Whenever an org owner or user might be prompted with Contact your Enterprise Administrator, there will be hyperlinked text, such as Who are my enterprise administrators? to redirect users to view who their enterprise admins are.
