パブリックリポジトリの永続性

GitHubは、ユーザが削除しない限りパブリックリポジトリを利用できるまま保とうとします。 たとえば以下のような場合、パブリックなコンテンツを利用できないようにすることがあります:

• リポジトリ中のコンテンツに対してDMCAテイクダウンノーティスを受け取った場合。
• リポジトリのコンテンツが弊社のコミュニティガイドラインあるいは利用規約に反すると判断した場合。

大学や企業の研究者は、この情報をデータ管理計画中で参照できます。

GitHub Archive Program について

By default, all public repositories are included in the GitHub Archive Program, a partnership between GitHub and organizations such as Software Heritage Foundation and Internet Archive to ensure the long-term preservation of the world's open source software.

The GitHub Archive Program enables third-party partners to archive public repositories using the public API. These partners archive different types of data at varying frequencies and make the data available to the public. The GitHub Archive Program also protects the data by storing multiple copies, on an ongoing basis, across various data formats and locations, including a very-long-term archive designed to last at least 1,000 years. 詳細は GitHub Archive Program を参照してください。

ライブラリーや研究者は、パブリックに利用できるコンテンツのアーカイブを作成する上で、法的な保護を必要とすることがあります。 GitHub上の作業のアーカイブ化についてサードパーティに考慮を求めたいのであれば、プロジェクトにオープンソースライセンスを追加できます。 オープンソースライセンスは、コントリビューターに対してリポジトリ内の素材のコピーと配布の明示的な許可を与えます。
